| My background in architecture frames my pursuits in art. As an architect I have manipulated physical form of large scale built environments. This has involved the production of form and space-- the assembly of constituent parts and materials into a coherent and complex whole. I continue to explore this creative process at a more intimate scale in my ceramics. |
| I create simple wheel thrown ceramic forms that are fragmented and then re-organized. The resultant form is made complex through the inter-relationship of multiple parts, repetitions and variations of solid and void, and the interaction between interior and exterior. The elemental form of the vessel is made abstract through this process of assemblage. |
